Here we are in the Afton Apple Orchard picking apples and rasberries. Some of us road on the hay ride and got a little wet. But it was tons-o-fun to be together!
I'm not sure if Nate understood that the food was for the Geese.
Juliette looking so cute & as if she's grown a foot in a month.
Pumpkins all around. I'm glad we grew our own this year.
Enjoying apple fritters & staying out of the rain.
We had a ton of fun even though it was raining off & on. Grant slid & got his bum all muddy. Nathan ate food off the ground, a gallon of cider was $6.95 (ouch), cute crafts, & we only spent money on apples & caramel covered apples. Yummy. I'm gonna start saving up for next time to get a Rocky Road apple. Those suckers are $10, but oh so good!!
While in Santa Clara, Jared & Jennifer took the kids to the park. It was an interesting walk with 6 kids, but they had fun. The swings were also busy, everyone wanted to go down the slide with Juliette, Nathan drank dirty sand water (he has a drinking problem), & no one wanted to walk back home through the crowds of birds. Yuck.
We went to pebble beach while in Carmel. The Morrris family & Cedusky's were with us. It was way overcast, but my shoulders still got burnt. Dolphins were swimming back & forth along the beach. There were 7 or 8 of them just playing around in the water with a scubba diver. Our pictures didn't really catch how fun it is was to watch them. We also went to the aquarium which the kids totally got a kick out of. Thanks to Majo Spencer we all got in for free!! Since Tawney never reads blogs, I can say she was playing around on her chair with Tim & broke it! I wish I would have gotten a video of it. Too much fun.
I don't know what to write. I do enjoy pictures. So I will attempt to post my 1st picture. I am at the Tower of London in this photo. Can you believe the Martin's have their very own tower in London?! The fake Royal jewels were in this tower.
So I have a queue of not created posts (in my mind) and this post did the first-grade-horror of cutting in front of everyone else. Perhaps it had a buddy that it wanted to keep up with (ie - Lisa's post of her messy house).
As I washed dishes in my kitchen this morning I listened to NPR and let the stories and reports transport me to a time and place where ideas and world issues reigned. It was quiet and informative and I was once again intelligent and witty. There was a good conversation going on (in my mind) of the ills of being forced to have only one child (think of the earthquake in China that killed the only child of many Chinese families) and perhaps even a potential book in the far away future that could center on this crisis. As I walked around the corner to check on my children (remember it was quiet), I found this...
and thought that maybe I could deal with just one child, as long as it was the younger. Sadly, he was lost in the rubble and I'm stuck with the earth-shaker. To quote Jennifer, "Oh the joys of motherhood."
This blog is for our WHOLE FAMILY!!!! A way to stay together through all the miles between us. To remember our family history, & create the opportunity for our children to remember their cousins & childhood.
